David R. Garcia is an associate professor at the Mary Lou Fulton College for Teaching and Learning Innovation and director of the Arizona Education Policy Initiative (AEPI) at Arizona State University. He is a former legislative staffer with the Arizona State Senate and was the 2018 Democratic candidate for governor of Arizona. He is author of Teach Truth to Power: How to Engage in Education Policy (The MIT Press, 2022).
