“Universities that were behind the curve digitally are catching up,” says Mark Simpson, pro-vice-chancellor of learning and technology at Teesside University.

We spoke to Mr Simpson and Jonathan Eaton, academic registrar at Teesside, as part of D2L’s University of the Future series, looking at how the higher education sector can face its challenges head-on and embrace change. 

The goal is to deliver the best possible education alongside preparing students for work. This will mean “a continuous move towards future-facing learning – focusing on the digital skills of both staff and students”, says Mr Eaton.
